I bet you guys never thought you would see this day again! I most certainly didn’t see it coming, but lucky for us! Episode 17 is out and Studio 60 will continue to air through to the end of the season. After that, it will be another disappointing end to an Aaron Sorkin series. I know this episode came out a few days ago but I’ve been really tied up with stuff so I wasn’t able to watch it yet. I’m not even sure if subs are out, but if they aren’t, I’ll try and get to work on them and hopefully have a release out soon sometime next week…as usual, no promises!

It is unfortunate that there won’t be anymore Studio 60 after this season. I’d be surprised if it does make a return. Reports have suggested that the sets have already been torn down so a return would be a highly unlikely scenario.

Save Studio 60 Petition?

The other day, I came across a petition to save Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Now I knew there would be some trouble as far as the show was concerned seeing as it didn’t fair too well off late, but I really wasn’t expecting a petition mid-season. Anyway, for those of you concerned as to why Studio 60 doesn’t air anymore, I’ll try and shed some light on the matter.

Apparently Studio 60 is to share the Monday 10PM slot with another show, The Black Donnelly’s. Now it’s supposed to be 7 weeks to Studio 60 and 7 to The Black Donnelly’s. But an article I read said, “NBC’s mob drama The Black Donnellys, which had a disappointing premiere a week ago, slumped even further at 10:00 p.m. this Monday night as it posted a 5.1 rating and an 8 share (versus last week’s 6.0/10). The results were worse than those for the previous occupant of the Monday-night time slot — Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. A rerun of CBS’s CSI: Miami won the hour with a 9.9/16″. This may just be good news for Aaron Sorkin’s show after all! In any case, please do sign the petition when you get a chance. We’re up to 13,000 signatures which is a really great number but the more the better!

Comp trouble

Issues with my computer are preventing me from getting started on the subs. I really wanted to start early this time so as to come out with a quick release but unfortunately my computer is acting up and unless that issue doesn’t get resolved, I won’t be able to start working on the subs. Sorry about it guys….hopefully next time I post it will be good news. Hope you have a better day than I did!

Here’s somthing you never thought you would see! A progress log for a Studio 60 episode!! I wanted to keep it a secret but really couldn’t help myself. I decided to sit and do a sub and I actually managed to do just that. Still have 3 minutes of the episode to transcript and sync so I’ll go right back to work! Expect a release in the next 15 minutes!

I really wished this could be a release post, but unfortunately it isn’t. I’m in a bit of a fix right now. As you all know, jackoweskla does the transcripts for all Studio 60 subtitles that I synch and release. As of today, after waiting for a few days for the transcripts to be released, I got word that she has stopped watching the show and unless someone else steps in, the resource site I visit for transcripts will no longer carry any new releases. Now that really does suck.

In any case, unless jackoweskla gets back, I’m left with two options. One – Stop doing subs for Studio 60 entirely. The second option is to do the transcripts and synch them myself. Now, problem is, I too miss out on a lot of the dialogues which is why I bank on the resource site so much. But quitting isn’t an option I would like to pursue so I’m asking you guys to try and pitch in. After the episode airs, if you can – please send in transcripts of any part/scene/conversation, anything you feel like. It doesn’t have to be in any sort of format…just fire up notepad and start scribbling! Then copy that into an email and send it to studiosixty.wordpress@gmail.com. I’m positive that with your help, we can release subs for our favourite show once again! Looking forward to your contributions! Cheers!

1×12 – Godsend (Heroes)

Here’s a release while I’m waiting for the transcripts of Studio 60. Its for this weeks episode of Heroes. I only just realised that this was put up some place else, but I decided to release it here anyway because I did put a bit of work into this one. I did the transcripts and sat up quite late to make sure I could complete it fast enough. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case but none the less, I don’t mind! Please feel free to send in any suggestions/corrections you may have by commenting to this post.

Without giving too much away, this was a really good episode! I thoroughly enjoyed it and it finally feels good to have Heroes back on the schedule again! I only just realised how much I missed it. We get a bit of insight into the Mysterious Hatian and a new Hero is discovered. We all have our theories about the New York city explosion but after this episode, I’m sure most of you will have even more ideas in mind. 3×12 – Nuts (Boston Legal)

Alright, finally I’m done! This will be the first release for the new year, and not a bad way to start as well. I did the transcripts as well as synch for the episode so I’m quite proud of myself – although I did miss out on a few words here and there, but no more than 4 or 5 in all, which is a huge deal to me! After this Monday, there should be a few releases out and possibly regular releases, if all goes as planned. I will try transcribing the Heroes episode and will synch the Studio 60 release once the transcripts get out – which may take a few days, depending on jackoweskla. But more than often, she is stunningly quick so I really don’t expect too much of a delay!

Back to BL. I thought it was a really good episode…Spader and Shatner are at their very best as usual, and this time take on Homeland Security. I particualry enjoyed Spader’s closing and Shatner’s take on America at the very end. All in all, a fun episode – really following in the trend from the last two seasons. Anyway, as usual the subtitles can be found here at the bottom of the post or at Podnapisi.net. Before I forget, this release is for NoTV’s proper release of the episode. XOR’s release had a few glitches and was nuked. Have a great weekend!

Jam-packed Monday!

Get ready for one heck of a Monday! Some of the best shows on TV will be making a return to the screen, and all that on one single day! If everything goes as scheduled, this coming Monday – 22nd January 2007 – will see the return of Prison Break, Heroes and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip! I don’t know about you guys, but I’m really excited about this one! Had Lost been on the schedule as well, I would have goosebumps all over but alas it will be another couple of weeks before the island will make it’s appearance on television.

I’m working on the subtitles for the 12th episode of the 3rd season of Boston Legal, and it’s almost done. Look out for a release some time tomorrow, although it will be up a little later than early. That’s about all the news I have for now…until tomorrow – come on Monday!!

Sarah Paulson has been having all sorts of award luck ever since she was cast as Harriet Hayes. The Studio 60 diva has been around on the block for quite a while now scoring small roles in Hollywood features such as What Women Want and Serenity, but never really got a chance to dwell in the spotlight.

Already winning here first nomination at the Satellite Awards, Paulson was once again nominated at the Golden Globes in the category of Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role, in a mini-series or motion picture made for television, putting her along side Grey’s Anatomy’s Katherine Heigl and Weeds’ Elizabeth Perkins. Although she may not have bagged the coveted award, Sarah Paulson looks all set for a very successful 2007!

I’ve decided not to go through with the House release. It was a real pain just doing half of it, and even more so, I wasn’t able to catch most of the dialogues. It was just a couple of words I missed here and there to begin with, but as I went on further, it built up until the subs were no where near releasable. At this point I must say, they guys (and gals) who do transcripts for all these shows are simply amazing…cheers to them!

Anyway, next release as and when I get time…or when something interesting comes up to watch. Till next post!
